We are the representative office in India of the German Federal State Of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg

We represent the German Federal Free and Hanseatic
City of Hamburg in India, on behalf of
The State Ministry for Economic and Labour Affairs of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg

IGEP Foundation is representing through its chairman, Dr. Dietrich Kebschull, the State Ministry for Economic and Labour Affairs of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in India.

Hamburg is one of the most dynamic centres of German and European economy with a long standing tradition of import and export trade with countries all over the world. With over 5,000 companies directly involved with exports, Europe’s second biggest container seaport and the world’s third largest aircraft industry centre, Hamburg is a pulsating trade metropolis in the Northern hemisphere of Germany.

With the expansion of the European Union, Hamburg has again been set to its ancestral position in the heart of Europe. Hamburg’s advantageous position between the North and the Baltic Sea enables companies situated in Hamburg to keep not only the trade ties to “Old Europe”, but to explore the adjoining markets of Eastern Europe. Hamburg is thus “The Gate to the World” through its excellent ties to other countries and continents.

The State Ministry for Economic and Labour Affairs of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg coordinates the foreign economic activities and provides consultancy services to companies from Hamburg. Here, strategies and possibilities of export promotion are developed, companies are counselled on questions regarding foreign markets, support is provided for small and medium sized companies on exploring foreign markets as well as the organization of delegations

Our task as the representative of the State Ministry for Economic and Labour Affairs of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is to foster co-operation between Indian and German companies by helping the Indian companies in either setting up their own business or in supporting the companies by finding suppliers, distributors or strategic partners in trade and technology in Germany and vice versa.
